Admission FAQs
Are the application forms available online?

Can I apply as an individual?
NO. Due to the programs slot allocation system and the sponsoring organization’s internal selection process, we do not receive individual applications from the sponsoring organizations.
Where do the sessions take place?
All sessions take place in Washington, D.C. and Warrenton, Virginia.
Can I use the credits from Seminar XXI towards my degree?
NO. Seminar XXI is not a “credit” program. There are no written assignments or grading. Fellows will receive a certificate of completion from the MIT Seminar XXI Program.
After being selected by Seminar XXI, can I pursue other programs at MIT?
NO. Selection/admission to the Seminar XXI Program is independent from the regular MIT admissions process. If you would like to apply to other programs/departments at MIT, you must contact the department/program you are interested in.
How many sessions do I have to attend to receive a certificate?
Fellows must attend at least two weekend sessions and three week night sessions to receive the certificate of completion from the program. The certificates will be distributed at the end of the last session.
What expenses are covered by the tuition paid to the program?
The program fee paid for by the Fellow’s sponsoring organization covers all costs, including lodging for the weekend sessions, meals and study materials. The only out-of-pocket expenses participants are likely to incur are for transportation to and from the monthly meetings, and parking (if applicable).
